He grew up in Palo Alto, CA and studied film production at SF State University, then worked as a sound editor and re-recording mixer at Saul Zaentz Film Center for 15 years on Oscar-winning films such as The English Patient and Unbearable Lightness of Being. Dan's credits for sound design and mixing include films by John Waters and Joan Chen, Maureen Gosling, Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, and many documentary films destined to air on PBS and HBO.
